go to your local hobby shop and get some alloy shock seals.
the plastic ones are pants.
when you get the ally ones, you will also notice that you dont ahve to rebuild your shocks as often.
hope that helps

I never had a problem running the plastic shock bottoms, but, what the problem seems to be is the seals. The way I used to build mine, was to use a bit of AE white diff lube (this stuff is good for everything!!!) on the seals, before I put the shaft in.
But, if you want, you can use the alloy housing, but, MAKE SURE the seals are at least dipped in shock oil before assembly.

Also, when the shock housings are screwed in correctly, the thin black O ring will disappear behind the thread. If it's still showing, it won't seal correctly, and likewise if you tighten it too much it will deform and leak too.
I found the Mission shocks a bit fiddly to build first time around, but I've built 2 of the cars now, and the second was a lot easier. I didn't think much of the threads on the plastic housings though, and I expect the alloy ones will be a lot better (but overpriced IMO and they should be included in the kit as standard)
I have never had problems with the plastic housings. I have had a lot of seals break tho. Helps not to get the O-ring caught in between the thread ::)

I have 2 sets of shocks, alloy housings on one, and std plastic on the other. I don't have any problems with leaking shocks at all.
You do have everything assembled correctly don't you?? as i can't think of anything obvous. We used to get a problem on the off rd cars with the end of the plastic housing getting damaged, it looked like it had "burst" this was usually caused by running with a bent shaft.
I think MIP blue seals (only for the small one) are a little better (smoother) than the std red ones, but there shouldn't be any problems with leakage.
The only kind of leakage i have had is either the big black O-ring or the small orange ones.

It might be a good idea the check that the bobin with the foam volume compensators has not popped out of the top allowing the o rings to move.

All the suggestions were great, cheers. but the diff lube works, a mate also suggested vasaline, this worked to. it was a great idea. :( :- :) :D ;D
I will soon buy the alloy sock seals, they seem alot better.
