Not long ago i brought a Cat 3000. now the season has come to the end in 2wd i would like to race the cat i am going to put in a 10 single and will be racing on astroturf and tiverton.
i know they are two different types of tracks. so any help in right direction. i will be using 3300 if any help.

i would run about a 95 spur gear and a 18/17 tooth pinion. dunno what the overall ratio is though

What brand of motor is is that you are going to be using??

yep, the gearing suggested by carver sounds spot on. You should have wicked acceleration with that.

Personally i would have said that gearing was miles undergeared, but it does depend on the brand of motor - hence my question.

i normally run a 95 spear with a 19/18 pinnion.
this is on a 12x1 like. but i think carver's will be some where near.

It does depend on the motor. Like Matt said, different brands want different gearing. On Astro I run my 10x2 BRM geared on 89x23. At Tiverton there isnt any need to run a 10x1, the car will have too much acceleration for the track and you will just slide everywhere. Look at maybe an 11. On my 10x2 at Tiverton at the National I think I was on 89x25. 8)

It also depends what track you are on. If the track is tight, i usually go down one pinion but if its open with a long straight I would go up a pinion
