Hi all, I have a AE 10L pan car circa 1990 and want to change the spur gear from 32dp to either 64 or 48 dp. The spur gear forms part of the diff, would I be able to put a spur gear from a later car on mine? Have they changed much? Any help would be most welcome.

Hey!

normally, u just can put other spur gears on to it.. 48dp is the best when you're driving a lot on asphalt or on the street and 64dp is the best for carpet, a lot of acceleration (even a bit more than 48 dp) but 64 dp is nor good for asphalt because it is easily damaged by little rocks..
So just change it :-)

I am using 48 dp RW spurs on my RC10L3 with no problems.
Most after market spurs will fit.
