Looking for some help i am going to buy a new car i currently run a pro4 and thought about a tamiya but decided against it because of the spares issue
so i have decided on an xray was wondering if you guys could give me some fors and againsts on each car i run indoors on carpet and outdoors in the scottish series i like the look of the t1 rayer but does its smaller price mean its not good for outdoors any info much appreciated.

The main difference between the 2 so the FK comes with short wishbones, low ratio pulleys and a one way (as well as a few lighted bits) so I would go for the FK just based on that as the short wishbones and low ratio pulleys are must haves really (its up to you about the one way)
I have been told that the T1R is supposed to be a little easier to drive, but the FK will be faster at the end of the day
Like you I had a Pro4 before and I can tell you the Xray is miles better, you won’t be disappointed.

The T1 Raycer is a good all around car. The composite chassis is reasonably stiff, and the car is well built. The low-ratio pulley is a good idea, but I currently am not using one and am using gearing to compensate for the pulley. I would suggest buying the Raycer, then buying the XRC chassis (the new 3.5mm carbon fibre chassis). You really don't need the ultra-tune shock towers, as they only add to the options, which I feel aren't completely necessary.

I have an EvoII (pre FOC) with a cracked chassis which I need to replace. Where can I get an XRC one from (and £££?)

I used to have a Raycer just after they were launched, with the intention of having it as an outdoor only car. I did race it a few times outdoors and it drove ok, but having had a orrigional T1 I was disappointed with some of the quality and the feel of the car. Most of this was cosmetic, I must admit - I felt that the plastic tub was poorer quality, the bulk heads needed trimming (!), I had a badly built diff that never ran right and I never really got on with the C-Hub front end. As I said it went ok-ish outdoors but not inside on carpet. It was pants!
I now own a Factory team version, an E-Bay special, and am delighted with it. The engineering is something out of this world, right back to the first T1, there is more room to shunt the electrics about to get the balance right, it is well under weight and it just looks like the mutt's nuts. Ok, so this is mostly cosmetic again, but when I tested in last night indoors on carpet it was so good I printed the "For Sale" posters for my now ex-car the moment I got home!
What will it be like outdoors? I don't know. However, I have moved house recently and the clubs I now frequet are indoors only so I don't really care either :D
Go for the FT version is my thinking. Just make sure you look after that beautiful carbon outside, don't you dare scratch it!
