Moving to an Xray, just wondering what springs i am going to need, as there are so many. Is the selected racing spring set worth the buy? or are only a few needed. Sorri if this question has been answerd allready.
Cheers

Are you racing indoor (carpet) or outdoors? Rubber or foams?

I'll answer that for you Carter - He run's indoor on carpet, rubber tires and outdoors on tarmac, rubber tires and ususally only runs stock, with the odd time in the mod class ;) :D

For rubber tires I solely use white springs on the front and the back.
Both for Tarmac and carpet on Take Off CS27.
You may want a set of slightly stiffer springs to deal with too much body roll on carpet with grippier tires.
This is for a Factory kit with 30W oil outdoors and 40W oil indoors. 4 holes open both front and rear.
Your driving style and preference may be different though.

You don't need the spring set, just get yourself some light blue and blue springs. Whites come with the kit.

When I first got my kit (seems like along time ago now) I ordered a full spring kit, it took 2 months to get to me and I have only ever used yellow, blue and violet out of it and bought light blue and dark blue separate which is what I’m using at the moment so I can say the full spring kit was a waste of time and money
The best thing to do it see if anyone has any Xray springs they can lend you, try them and if they work for you get a set of your own :D

Only problem is ther are not many lads that run xrays down my club.i fink ill go for yellow, light and dark blue, purpule (violet) i take it viloet is the purple springs, whatever colour you call them, and the whites which come with the kit
Sound about rite? can allways buy more if i need them.
Whats thisabot drilling piston holes to 1.2mm? i was going to set them up on piston 3,will i need to drill holes? or is it easier just to run 4 hole pistons?
Cheers guys,big help! :D

I have almost all the Xray springs, but have only used white (kit) light blue and dark blue.... maybe when we go indoors in a few weeks I'll get to try the stiffer ones

I have the Xray sprng kit but only use the following so far:-
yellow
white
light blue
dark blue
violet (not purple,they are harder)
Yellow and white in the winter and the blues and violet in the summer when its hot. which is not too often LOL!
I also usualy run the stiffer springs onthe back, as it seems to settle the rear down more. and 1 spring rate on the front like at the KO I think I was running violet on the rear and light blue on the front.

So your saying you run stiffer on the rear than the front? this is the opposite to most touring cars and just wanted to check?

correct, I am running stiffer on the rear than the front. Also kit oil in the front and rear. who said you have to run the front stiffer than the back? you run what feels best on the track, softer onthe rear if it feels better for YOU!

use the adjustable pistons. then you can change from 1-4 holes in half a minute.

Yes use the adjustable pistons. Remember they are made by Xray so they're alot easier to build and use than you'd think!
