Hi

when i turn the wheels with my hands to check the steering i am finding an incredible amount of play.
i have superglued a washer to the both left and right knuckles and there is still quite a lot of play. :'(
is there anyway of getting roung this

What car are you talking about. If you are talking about a XXX-S i have found this to and Iam wondering if this is the reason my car leans a bit different ways.

Are the screw tight on the steering blokes? is the servo saver on tight, i found the servo saves to be slightly loose on mine and it was totally unpredictable because of it.

yes it is the xxxs

everything seems fine but there is still play in the steering when i move the wheels to the left and right.
i tried dialling it out by super glueing a washer to the inside of both the left and right steering knuckle and some has gone but not all of it

Might sound really stupid, but have you checked the Chubs, made sure the grub screw is screwed in, and the part were the pin goes in as this might of worn on one and made it slack. Just trying to think of everything that might be wrong with it :-[

It might be the ball cups on the turnbuckles that connect the steering, they might be just worn, get some good RPM ones.

I recommend just leaving it, the car feels better with a bit of slop

there is still some play.
the car does feel good to drive at the mo as g+ said.
i'll have compare to cars when i go losi searching in a matter of a couple of weeks
