Anyone know how much I can expect to pay for a Reedy KR armature? - my 10 turn armature is dead...
Also on the subject of Reedy KR's I have a nearly brand new 11 double KR that I think has a loose magnet as it sounds terrible when spinning it over by hand... I have tried everything and it all points to loose magnets - does anyone know how I can fix this as it seems a shame that the can looks like new and has only done approx 3 meetings!!! :(
Cheers

KR arms are about £28.
You can glue the loose magnet back into place with cyano.

Thats ALOT cheaper than a new motor :D
Will be ordering one this week then...
Cyano? - whats that?
And how do I diagnose which magnet is loose as they dont look it! :o

cyano.. superglue.
I ordered a krypton for my TC last year. It came with the comm a mess and the magnets out of place so I wouldn't be surprised if you have a loose magnet.

Scott, it should be very obvious if the magnet is loose. AS it will either be stuck to teh arm, or if you put a flat screw driver behind it, it will come out!! This isn't all that uncommon. :(

I just bought a new KR and it came with the loose magnet option up front. I've sent it back!!
it looks like the magnets are held in with epoxy; which was cracked. My earlier Kr's dont appear to have any epoxy visible, maybe they've changed the way they're manufactured.

If you get chance to look at a Trinity D6 can, inside the quad magents look to be held in much better than Reedy motors.

I don't think so, the clamp and the tiny bit of glue Epic/Trinity use doesn't help much.
I've seen magnets go from D6 cans as well.
