Interchangeability???

Hello,
Wasn't sure whether the word in the title actually exists but here it goes.
I have had a 7.7 sport for a while and am interested in some spare parts, If i was to go out and buy an old 7.6 evo 1 to break down would i be able to use the majority of the parts on my 7.7 sport, or would i be looking at a practically different car. I heard that the parts on all rc labs were interchangeable from the 7.5 to the GT3, then again i heard the same thing regarding the corraly c4 and the xray.
Please can somebody clarify. :)

I'm not sure on specifics, and I'm not even sure on broad things. I only listen in on what James stewart babbles on about day after day, but from what I remember only certain parts are interchangable, hubs and wishbones I think. Things like the chassis', shock towers, top decks, a lot of parts were developed rapidly between the 7.6 and the GT3. I doubt if very many of the parts are interchangable at all

The lower chassis plate will be different, as will the bulkheads. The two upper decks will be the same, along with the shock towers, wishbones, castor blocks, hubs and driveshafts. All the bearings will be the same, although the 7.6 had the diff bearings mounted straight into the bulkheads, while the 7-7 uses top-hat bearing carriers. This means the diffs from the 7.6 wont fit straight into the 7-7 without a bit of modification.

Shame about the bulkheads being different, i've got the not so great plastic ones but i can live with that, i think i'll go along with it then as the "usual breakables will be changeable between both cars, and i'm sure the hubs are nice ali on this one :) "
